Summer Days!

Finally, the end of school has arrived! Although the weather certainly hasn't been summer like, it has been nice not having to rush off to school, well, for me and Keeli at least. Kayti made the Dance Company team for the high school. She is the only freshman on a 17 person team, although many freshman did try out. She was very pleased with herself! This means summer practices though. So, she still has to get up at 6:30 for a 7am to 10am practice three times a week. If that weren't enough, for 9 days during June, she is also taking a freshman PE class. She elected to do her PE requirement this way so that she doesn't have to take a full semester of it during the school year. Luckily, it IS only for 9 days and she has all of July off from Dance Company practices.

The girls did STELLAR in their classes this year! Keeli held a straight A average all year long and Kayti ended up with a cumulative GPA of 3.82 for the year. That included Honors Science, Honors Language Arts and Geometry. Geometry just about did her in, but she kept at it and never gave up. I was very impressed seeing I barely passed geometry in school (she and I are both algebraic minded NOT geometry minded!). It is behind her now and she can start high school in Algebra 2. Kayti looked beautiful at her 8th grade promotion! I can't believe that she is almost 15 years old. It doesn't seem possible.

Keeli tried out for competition soccer and made the team again! Sean currently holds an assistant coaching license but is going to be taking the test for a head coach license in July or August. This will be a season of change because the team has aquired several new girls and a new head coach. A couple of months ago she also had her top braces put on. Considering all the work Kayti needed BEFORE her braces ever went on, I was shocked when the doctor put her's on right away. They look adorable and she should have her bottom ones on before too long. Today is her 11th birthday. It seems like I was just holding her in the hospital and now she is 11 and almost in 6th grade. I wish I knew how to slow the time down. Even just a little bit.

Hopefully the weather warms up enough to make us believe that it is actually summer and we can spend some time at the pool. Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe summer!
