Turnabout

Just when you think things are one way, life happens and you are thrown in a completely opposite direction!

As of my last post, Kayti was having a hard time at school. Probably the hardest she has ever had. She took it upon herself and try to clear up some of the issues that she was going through. It seemed to have worked! For the past week, she has come home from school with a smile on her face. No evil thoughts, no grumbles, no internal feelings to throttle anyone. Cool! I think the last quarter of school might be salvageable. We can only hope!

Of course, to continue my discombobulated feeling, I received a letter from the charter school with the girls' acceptance letters. Great, yes? NO. It states that because Keeli was accepted on Kayti's lottery drawing because of sibling preference, if Kayti chooses not to attend, Keeli's place will be forfeited and she will drop down to the bottom of the wait list for her grade. Lovely. She was really excited to go, but Kayti really decided that the charter school wasn't for her. What to do...what to do? Do I *make* Kayti go, and possibly give her another miserable year after this one has been so bad up until recently? Do I tell Keeli sorry, I know you were excited, but too bad? Keeli started crying when I told her, Kayti gave her a hug and said that she will go to the charter school so that Keeli can go. Aww....sister love. Keeli replied that she wouldn't let Kayti do that because she knows that she doesn't want to go. They fight sometimes, they bicker sometimes, but they've always got each other's backs. What more can a mom ask for??

We have until the end of April to make our decision. I am sure we will have decided before then, but to say I am bugged is putting it mildly. Luckily, we HAVE had a good experience overall with accommodations that have been made at their local school. Decisions, decisions.

Oh no. That's not fun at all. Kortney will be devistated if Kayti doesn't go to the Jr High. That is such a tough decision. Your post made me cry though. It's so great to see sisters stick up for each other that way. It's nice to know that they really DO love each other.
